Lincoln Bathroom Installation

Whether you are looking for a simple bathroom suite replacement or a fully tiled luxury bathroom, we are able to help. We have been in business for over 3 years now and despite the recession we are a growing business.

We do all of our own electrical work, the only work we subcontract out is our plastering & painting. We do all of our own tiling, plumbing and carpentry work. We are able to offer a fully project-managed design and installation service to suit your needs.

It all starts from our initial quotation appointment. If the job is relatively straightforward we simply email you a price for the work shortly after the appointment. If you are looking for a full bathroom redesign we are able to draw up plans as part of the quotation.

If you want to go ahead with us then we detail the full schedule of work in the contract. On signing of the contract we ask for full payment of materials up front. The remainder of the work is paid for in staged payments once key milestones are reached.

As we are a small business you can be sure that the person doing the quote will be the person managing the bathroom installation too. We are also happy to provide references from previous customers and you've probably already noticed that we provide plenty of high-resolution photos of our work on our website.

Choosing A Bathroom Suite

Please don't buy a cheap bathroom suite!! Whoever you buy your suite from, you should spend around £400 on a decent suite. From our experience, here's the reasons why: -

Most baths nowadays are made of acrylic. It's lightweight, easy to clean and much more stain-resistant than steel. The downside of acrylic it is a lot more flexible than steel. Acrylic baths come in 3 thicknesses - 3, 5 and 8 millimetres. As you have probably guessed, the 3mm baths are (in our opinion) not fit for purpose. Nearly all baths of this thickness need a support frame built around them in order to reduce the flex in them to required levels. By the time the labour and materials for this frame are costed in you would be better buying a 5mm bath in the first place.
Cheaper baths come with poor quality legs and fixings. This all comes back to flex again. Cheaper leg kits allow more flex - this is definitely not good when you consider that each leg may have over 80kg of weight acting down on it when the bath is full.
Cheaper WCs tend not to have fixing holes to fix the cistern to the wall. The result of this is that the cistern can move about slightly when someone sits on the toilet. Over time this causes the washer in between the cistern and pan to leak. Poorer quality WCs use fill and flush valves that wear out much faster, resulting in expensive repair bills.
When choosing taps, you don't need to spend a fortune but do choose a branded tap that carries a 5-year warranty. Deva or Bristan are good examples of brands to choose. Anything that you are turning or using every day should come with a decent warranty!
Without fail, every time we have fitted a bathroom suite supplied by a DIY store, parts have either been incorrect or missing. If the bathroom we are working on is your only bathroom, this can mean you being without a bath or toilet until the important parts arrive.

If you do want to buy a suite from a DIY store after reading this, please note that we will only provide a quote once the suite is on site so that we can inspect it for completeness. We will then ensure that our quote covers any labour aspects such as building a frame around the bath so that we can warranty the work for 2 years.

We sell a full range of bathroom suites, cabinets, mirrors etc - we only supply QX Bathrooms suites and furniture. Their prices aren't as cheap as the DIY stores but for the reasons we've outlined above we believe that they are definitely worth spending more money with.

Choosing Tiles

We always recommend that our customers choose their own tiles. Unless you are buying sale tiles, we are able to offer a discount on tiles bought through most local suppliers. To take advantage of this simply let us know the stock codes of the tiles you wish to order and we will do the rest for you. Please note that we are happy to supply tiles even if you are not having your bathroom done by us, so we can even save people money if you are doing your own bathrooms.

Electrics, Plastering & Painting

Lots of bathroom design features that were popular in the past are no longer in fashion. Some of the items that help to devalue your home include shiplap wood ceiling and wall panelling and artexed ceilings. We only use one plasterer for all of our bathroom work. He has plastered every room in our own home and therefore we are more than happy for him to plaster our customers's bathrooms. He is able to undertake drylining and skimming or rendering, depending on the requirements of your bathroom. Our plasterer also undertakes the majority of our painting work on projects. All painting is carried out using Dulux paints, from our experience other paints do not produce as good a finish.

Please note that unlike many tradesmen we are fully qualified electricians so you will receive the correct certification for any electrical work carried out in your property.
